Southeast Asia is rich in cultural diversity, historical significance, and age-old traditions. But what exactly defines Southeast Asia, and how have its peoples coexisted and interacted through time, in all their differences and similarities? What are the narratives that have shaped identities, created communities, and at times altered the course of history?
The peoples of these 'lands beneath the winds' have left us clues about their lives, values, and civilisations over the course of millennia. The Southeast Asia Story Project seeks to better understand the region through its stories and song, its art and artefacts, and the voices of its people.
